Friday 28 June: afternoon workshop at The Life Centre, Romiley

Thinking of giving Feldenkrais a try?

This workshop is suitable for anyone who would like to expand their potential.

Where is it? The Life Centre in Romiley, Stockport SK6 4BN

What can I expect?

In each lesson, the gentle instruction is to do very little. Or at least to make small movements. These movements are made with focus and awareness. As attention rests with the body, noticing a lift or a turn or a twist, the mind’s focus allows relaxation of loops of thought.

Through kindly attention on the body, and gentle movements, stress release happens. At the end of the workshop, I notice that I am breathing differently, standing differently, moving differently, smiling differently.

Our June workshop – Ease in the neck and shoulders – will involve all of your body with ‘lessons’ in a seated position and resting on a mat on the floor. By arriving at 12.45, you can set up and be in position ready for the start of the session at 1pm. Between 1 and 4 pm you will experience three ‘lessons’, each about 40 minutes with short comfort breaks between. I think of the ‘lessons’ as experiments in movement. There can be joy and playfulness in this approach to movement.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothes and bring a mat and/or a blanket to lie on.
